The Gospel Project is a three-year curriculum that follows "The Scarlet Thread" of the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the Old Testament, Gospels and Epistles (the other New Testament Books). Roughly one year is spent in each of these three areas, though sometimes supporting texts for the lesson are pulled from other areas of the Bible (for instance the lesson on God as Creator may pull passes from Genesis 1 and 2, John 1, Colossians 1, and several other places). Each lesson has three short passages of text each and each passage helps to cover one main point of the lesson. The lesson is designed to be covered in a 60-minute Sunday School class or small group Bible study. This curriculum also covers the 99 in :99: Essential Doctrines of the Christian Faith, so you may want to make use of that playlist or this webpage if you would like short-format videos to help you learn and share each of these essential doctrines.
Each quarter a new Daily Discipleship Guide is posted with five Daily Readings for each week that help cover the passes from the lesson in more depth and sometimes cover additional passages that we wouldn't normally have time to cover in the lesson. I'll post copies of these to Discord. If any of you would like to you have your own digital copies of the materials available in PDF or Word Document format, let me know and my church probably be happy to add you to their Ministry Grid account and give you access to the correct materials for your age range (Preschool, Kids, Youth, or Adults). You'll be able to view a few older lessons and some upcoming lessons this way too.
This curriculum gives encouragement to know the truth with your "Head," believe the truth with your "Heart," and to obey the truth with your "Hands" (the work that you do). Jesus and James both tell us that faith that is not put into action is like a tree that bears no fruit and is as good as dead. We are not saved by our works, but the book of Ephesians tells us that we were saved unto good works that have been prepared for us in Christ Jesus. I hope this series will encourage all of us not only to have good orthodoxy (right belief) abut also good orthopraxy (right living) as we who are in Christ are called to be His ambassadors. As our Church Covenant at Harvest Christ Fellowship say,
We will seek, by divine aid, to live carefully in the world, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, and remembering that, as we have been voluntarily buried by baptism and raised again from the symbolic grave, so there is on us a special obligation now to lead a new and holy life.
We will work together for the continuance of a faithful evangelical ministry in this fellowship, as we sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines. We will contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the fellowship, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the Gospel through all nations.
I hope this curriculum will be as helpful to you as it has been to me in encouraging you to Know, to Grow, and to Go and take the gospel to all people both near and far. Just use the Contact Us form to request access to the Discipleship Discord and/or our Ministry Grid account.
