July 2026 Update

Summer semester is coming to a close for me and a much-needed break is right around the corner.  Thanks to all of you who have been praying about the building project at church.  We have crossed the first major hurdle of receiving our condition use permit and can start making the actual architectural drawings that will be needed for the various contractors and subcontractors and putting work out for bid.  God is also providing the right people to serve the church at just the right time as only He can do.

The Monday night Bible study is getting close to finishing a study of the Gospel of Luke.  It's our first gospel that we took on, and the Wednesday nigh group is now studying the book of Romans.  I've started going through the Daily Readings of The Gospel Project for my Daily Devotions since I recently finished reading through the entire Bible.  This is an approximately three-year reading plan.  Every week there is a reading from the Psalms (for Saturday) and five daily readings related to the lesson for Monday through Friday.  There is no daily reading for Sunday as that's when the lesson is normally taught, so you may have noticed that I'm not posting a Daily Devotion article on Sunday, and that's on purpose.  This is your chance to listen to The Gospel Project lesson that toes along with that week's readings.  I'm currently in Volume 1 of 12 (each volume contains 3 units and each unit runs for about one month--36 months=3 years of material).  I've enjoyed going through this material again and I hope the refresher has been helpful to you.

I've been posting pretty regularly on Substck and Facebook as I'm going back and reposting many of my Faith and Culture blog articles as many in my current audience were not around when I first wrote them and biblical truth is timeless.  It is needed for each new generation and can be applied to all kinds of new situations, times, and seasons we find ourselves in.

The only other update I have doesn't have to do with this site or community, but is for my Math Resources and Tutoring website.  I'm starting a new model of operation there where students can sign up each semester for courses that I'll be offering and can purchase tutoring packages.  There are two levels of tutoring packages--the Premium Tutoring Package only has synchronous tutoring and the VIP Tutoring Packages has both synchronous and synchronous tutoring options.
