Psalm 113 English Standard Version Who Is like the LORD Our God? 113 Praise the LORD! Praise, O servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD! 2 Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and forevermore! 3 From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the LORD is to be praised! 4 The LORD is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens! 5 Who is like the LORD our God, who is seated on high, 6 who looks far down on the heavens and the earth? 7 He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap, 8 to make them sit with princes, with the princes of his people. 9 He gives the barren woman a home, making her the joyous mother of children. Praise the LORD! Another call to worship for the people of the LORD. Why do we come forth and worship? Because His Name is great and greatly to be praised, both now and forevermore. He is king over all the nations-yea, above all creation. He lifts up the head of the weak, poor, helpless and humble, but brings low those who are haughty--usually the rich and powerful who do not submit themselves to the LORD and are counted among the fools. He gives life even to those who were supposed to be unable to have children like Sarah and Hannah. Barrenness was a sign of the curse of sin, yet He alone is able to reverse the curse and give blessing where there were only curses. He brings joy out of bitterness and brokenness. Who is like the LORD our God? For these reasons and many more, we will praise the LORD and sing and tell of His great Name among the nations all the days of our lives! Comments are closed.
