Proverbs 29:22-27 English Standard Version 22 A man of wrath stirs up strife, and one given to anger causes much transgression. 23 One's pride will bring him low, but he who is lowly in spirit will obtain honor. 24 The partner of a thief hates his own life; he hears the curse, but discloses nothing. 25 The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is safe. 26 Many seek the face of a ruler, but it is from the LORD that a man gets justice. 27 An unjust man is an abomination to the righteous, but one whose way is straight is an abomination to the wicked. The wrath of man does noet work the righteousness of God. No, a man who is quick to anger stirs up strife and causes much transgression (sin). The who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.
The one who is part of the conspiracy to commit a felony like intentionally stealing from someone, has to deal with his conscience that tells him this is wrong, and he should be going to the authorities, but he instead keeps silent because he knows he is just as guilty from being complicit. We should fear God, not men. Those who fear men may be tempted to deny the LORD, but the one who trusts in the LORD will be safe. While it is hard to seek audience with the king in order for the king to get justice for you, the LORD Himself hears our prayers and delivers justice on behalf of His people in all places and at all times. He neither sleeps nor slumbers, and always does what he knows is good and will bring Him glory. The wicked, evil man who is unjust is revolting to the righteous man. Likewise, the righteous man is revolting to the one who desires to be wicked. The wicked man needs to have a heart change for there to be peace between these two people. Comments are closed.
