Proverbs 19:26-29

Proverbs 19:26-29

​26 He who does violence to his father and chases away his mother
    is a son who brings shame and reproach.
27 Cease to hear instruction, my son,
    and you will stray from the words of knowledge.
28 A worthless witness mocks at justice,
    and the mouth of the wicked devours iniquity.
29 Condemnation is ready for scoffers,
    and beating for the backs of fools.

Hopefully none of us actually do violence to our fathers and chase away our mothers, but there are some out there that do.  Such people bring shame and reproach on themselves and their entire family because they refuse to be submissive to the most basic authority that the LORD has put them under--that of a parent-child relationship.  Such people that stop listening to the wisdom and instruction of their parents (and others around them) will no longer walk in the paths of righteousness that the LORD has laid out for us in His Word (the words of knowledge that Solomon wants his son to cling to).

The one who testifies in court of things that did not see or refuses to testify of things he did see or takes a bribe in exchange for his testimony is a worthless person that mocks justice and tries to pervert it.  The wicked person also desires to feast on more and more iniquity.  It becomes like food for them that satisfies their stomach and soul (or so they believe it will, but it really doesn't').

The one who scoffs at justice and the truth stands condemned.  He has no intention of knowing God or His plan of salvation, and he lives his life in such a way that is a mockery of God and the redemption that He offers.  The fool only listens to the correction that comes from a beating.  He will not listen to the words of wisdom that try to offer him the chance to make a course correction before a beating is necessary.
