Proverbs 10:29-32 English Standard Version 29 The way of the LORD is a stronghold to the blameless, but destruction to evildoers. 30 The righteous will never be removed, but the wicked will not dwell in the land. 31 The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, but the perverse tongue will be cut off. 32 The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, but the mouth of the wicked, what is perverse. We wrap up this chapter of the book of Proverbs with some encouragement for the righteous and blameless. The LORD Himself will be their stronghold and their defense against those that wish to do them harm, and the LORD Himself will pour out His wrath and His vengeance on evildoers. We need not worry about protection or retribution. The LORD has all of that covered. We just need to listen to and obey the LORD.
No one will be able to thwart the LORD's plans for the righteous. They are firmly held in His hand, and no one will snatch them out. All the blessings and promises that have been secured for them will be delivered to them through Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior. We are citizens of a heavenly kingdom, and we will dwell with God in the New Heaven and the New Earth just like Adam and Eve did in the Garden of Eden (only there will be no more opportunity to sin). The righteous man speaks words of wisdom that bring comfort, healing and knowledge to others, but the wicked man speaks perverse and vile words that are offense and used as a weapon against those around him. Solomon says that the LORD will cut off the slanderous, blasphemous, and lying tongues that speak curses of the wicked men. However, the lips and tongue of the righteous know what is acceptable and pleasing in the eyes of the LORD. They speak sweet words that are like honey from the honeycomb. They encourage, edify, and bless others and they speak the truth in love. They pray in all things, and in all things, they give praise to the Father, Son, and Spirit. May God be glorified through our thoughts, actions, and words today. May the sources and motive of these be His Wisdom which people will understand does not come from within ourselves. May we be good reflectors of the glory of God and point people to Him today. Comments are closed.
