Warning Against Neglecting Salvation
1 Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it. 2 For since the message declared by angels proved to be reliable, and every transgression or disobedience received a just retribution, 3 how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? It was declared at first by the Lord, and it was attested to us by those who heard, 4 while God also bore witness by signs and wonders and various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.

Just a few short verses here, but they have a lot to say.  "The message declared by angels" is the Mosaic Law and we have seen that the blessings and curses in it are reliable and that none are found righteous by the Law.  But isn't it an even greater violation to reject the one and only way that has been made for you by God in the person of the Son, Jesus Christ?  How do we expect to escape the punishment that the Bible promises for those that die without Christ if we put off making the decision and die apart from Christ after being told about the salvation that He offers?

God spoke at the baptism of Jesus and on the Mount of Transfiguration to let people know that Jesus was His beloved Son and that we should listen to Him.  He then also allowed both Jesus and the apostles to perform many signs and wonders including but not limited to casting out demons, speaking in tongues, gifts of healing, bringing people back from the dead and more--all of this to validate that the words and works of Christ were true and that He was the Son of God as He claimed to be.  The greatest validation of His deity and that Jesus is the only way as He claimed is His resurrection on the third day.

One day, everyone will stand before Jesus as their Judge....the question is how we will be judges.  The Christians who are the Bride of Christ will face a "judgement" where all that was done with impure motives and is an unacceptable offering will be burnt up in what is called the Bema Seat of Christ while the lost people of this world will stand before Christ at the Great White Throne judgement and their names will not be found in the Lamb's Book of Life and they will be judged by the record of their deeds and all will be found guilty of rejecting God's Law and God's Son.  He will say to them...."Depart from me, I never knew you" even to those who try to call Him "Lord, Lord" on that day and claim they did many good works in His name.

Today may be the last day for someone to hear about Jesus.  Today may be your last day to tell someone about Jesus.  Don't pass up the opportunity to talk to tell the world the good news that God has made a way where there seems to be no way, but His way is the only way and that way is Jesus--The Way, The Truth and The Life.
