Ezekiel 39:25-29 English Standard Version The LORD Will Restore Israel 25 “Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Now I will restore the fortunes of Jacob and have mercy on the whole house of Israel, and I will be jealous for my holy name. 26 They shall forget their shame and all the treachery they have practiced against me, when they dwell securely in their land with none to make them afraid, 27 when I have brought them back from the peoples and gathered them from their enemies' lands, and through them have vindicated my holiness in the sight of many nations. 28 Then they shall know that I am the LORD their God, because I sent them into exile among the nations and then assembled them into their own land. I will leave none of them remaining among the nations anymore. 29 And I will not hide my face anymore from them, when I pour out my Spirit upon the house of Israel, declares the Lord GOD.” Once the wicked are destroyed from this earth, the restoration and blessing of the LORD's people will begin. The LORD will have mercy on the whole house of Israel (the ones that were not true would have already been separated and cast out as the "sheep and the goats" judgment has already occurred, so there are no ethnically Jewish people left who are enemies of God). For the sake of His holy Name, He will restore His holy people, Israel and give them all the blessings of the covenant that were promised to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, many of which have never been fully realized. They will be made the head and not the tail as was promised to Moses, and they will live in peace and fellowship with God their Creator, Savior, and Redeemer forever and ever.
They will no longer be ashamed--their guilt and shame will be taken away (remember how shame was one of the first effects of the Curse after Adam and Eve sinned?). All the effects of the Curse will be reversed and it will be like we have returned to a point before Adam and Eve sinned but without the temptation to sin, and with many people saved from every tribe, tongue and nation (though this passage specifically focuses on the restoration of nation of Israel). Those who were scattered would be gathered together back in the Promised Land. The LORD will be vindicated for many will have made accusations against Him that He was neither good enough nor powerful enough nor loving enough to fulfill His covenant to His people. There are many today that believe He ahs abandoned ethnic Israel and they twist passages that have to do with there being only one Way to God and heaven through Jesus to say that God does not have a "chosen people" anymore. That's hogwash as the LORD made an eternal, unconditional covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and their descendants that was not dependent on the goodness of the descendants (if so, the promises would have probably stopped with Abraham because he didn't deserve them and definitely wouldn't have passed through Isaac and Jacob because they definitely didn't deserve them). This is not in any way saying the Israel comes to the Lord in a different way--they still must come through the blood of Jesus, but the LORD chose to use them to reveal Himself to the world and to be one of them--the Lion of the Tribe of Judah--when He became flesh and made His dwelling among us. He still has a special place in His heart for His people--His brethren. The LORD will put it in the hearts of all the children of Israel to return to the Land. Even now, there is a strong desire for the Jews to return to the Land, even though there are constant wars. They feel the call to return home. The LORD will completely reveal Himself to them as He was never able to before--He glory was always veiled for our safety, but that will no longer be necessary. We will see Him face-to-face, and walk and talk with Him in the same way that Adam and Eve did. He will pour out His Spirit on us and His Sprit will bring about the work of making us fully into the image of Christ and prepared for our new, eternal dwelling place. We will be like Him when we see Him face to face.
